Private Mornington Peninsula tour FAQs

What makes this a private Mornington Peninsula tour?

Your vehicle and local outdoor guide are exclusively for your group, with up to 10 guests. Follow our recommended hiking and Hot Springs itinerary or contact us before booking to discuss changes. Attractions, walking tracks and the Hot Springs Bath House are shared with other visitors.

How much does the private tour cost?

Contact us for a quote with your preferred date, group size and itinerary requests. We will confirm the total private-tour price, including the agreed Hot Springs admission and towel arrangements, before you book. Lunch, drinks and personal expenses are purchased separately.

Is hotel pickup included?

Hotel pickup is included in Melbourne CBD and at accommodation within approximately 5 km by road of the CBD. Send us your address before booking so we can confirm whether it is in the pickup area. The distance is by road, rather than a straight-line radius.

Where do we meet if we are outside the hotel pickup area?

Our usual central meeting point is 180 St Kilda Road, Melbourne. We will confirm your pickup location and departure time before the tour.

Can we customise the itinerary?

Yes. Contact us beforehand with your interests, group size and walking abilities. We can discuss changes to the walks or stops, subject to travel time, weather, access and venue availability. Hot Springs entry is booked for an agreed time, so significant changes need to be arranged before booking.

How much walking is involved?

The recommended itinerary includes a guided 5 km return hike to Bushrangers Bay, plus shorter walks at Arthurs Seat and Cape Schanck. The main trail is undulating with some hills and occasional steps. Walking distances may change with an agreed customised route.

How difficult is the Bushrangers Bay hike?

The hike is Grade 2 and does not require previous bushwalking experience. Everyone should be comfortable walking around 5 km on an undulating trail with uneven surfaces and steps. Tell us about any concerns before booking so we can discuss a suitable plan.

Is the Hot Springs visit private?

The tour vehicle and guide are private to your group. The recommended Hot Springs visit is to the shared Bath House, where other visitors will also be bathing. It is not an exclusive hire of the pools or venue.

Are Hot Springs entry and towels included?

Our public tour includes Bath House entry and towels. For your private booking, we will specify admission, towel arrangements and the total price in your quote before you book, so you know exactly what is covered.

How long do we spend at the Hot Springs?

We plan around two hours of bathing on the recommended itinerary. Entry time and availability will be confirmed with your booking, and the rest of the day will be planned around that time.

Where do we have lunch?

We stop at a local Mornington Peninsula cafe after the coastal walks and before the Hot Springs. Lunch and drinks are purchased separately. Let us know about dietary requirements before the tour.

Can we book for a family or a group with different walking abilities?

Tell us the ages, walking experience and needs of everyone in your group before booking. We can discuss shorter walks where practical and check the venue arrangements for your group. The standard walking itinerary is not fully step-free.

What time does the tour depart and return?

For the recommended itinerary, we suggest leaving Melbourne at approximately 7:30 AM and returning around 5:30 PM. Exact times depend on your pickup location, agreed route, Hot Springs booking, traffic and conditions.

Will we see kangaroos?

There are opportunities to spot kangaroos and native birds around the Bushrangers Bay area, but sightings cannot be guaranteed. Your guide will help you watch any wildlife from a respectful distance.

What should we bring?

Bring comfortable trainers or hiking shoes, water, warm layers, a waterproof jacket, sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat and your swimsuit. Sandals or slip-on shoes can be useful for the bathing areas. We will confirm towel arrangements before the tour.

What happens in bad weather?

Coastal weather and track conditions can affect the walks. Your guide may adjust the route for safety or access, and we will discuss any significant changes with you. Venue arrangements will be confirmed for your booking.

Can we bring luggage?

Vehicle storage is limited. Please contact us before booking if you need to bring anything larger than a small day bag.

How do we book, and what are the cancellation terms?

Send an enquiry with your preferred date, number of guests, pickup address and itinerary requests. We will confirm availability, the full price, inclusions and private-tour cancellation terms before you book, including any applicable venue booking conditions.
