About Hike & Seek
Hike & Seek is a small independent Melbourne tour company for travellers who want to spend more time outside — walking coastal trails, exploring rainforest, spotting wildlife and discovering Victoria with a local guide.
Our story
Hike & Seek began exploring Victoria in 2015 with a simple idea: small groups, memorable places and more time actually experiencing the outdoors.
Over the years, the business has grown around that same philosophy. The destinations have evolved, the guides have changed and the itineraries have been refined, but the heart of the experience has stayed the same — good people sharing a great day outside.
Kurtis joined Hike & Seek as a guide in 2023 and took over the business in 2025. Since then, the focus has been on building on what guests already loved while making the tours even more adventurous, thoughtful and connected to the places we visit.

How we like to travel
Victoria has plenty of famous places worth seeing. We just think the best part is often what happens between the lookouts — the trail through the forest, the wildlife beside the road, the local lunch, the conversation and the unexpected stop that becomes your favourite part of the day.
Our public tours are capped at 10 guests, keeping the day personal, social and easy to move through.
We build our days around walks, forests, beaches, wildlife and time in the landscape — not just viewing it from the roadside.
Your guide walks with you, looks for wildlife, answers questions and becomes part of the experience rather than simply driving the vehicle.
Timing, weather, crowds, walking conditions and the flow of the day all matter. We plan routes to make the whole experience feel considered.
Meet the crew
Hike & Seek is a small team of hikers, photographers, musicians, cyclists, surfers and snow chasers. Everyone brings something different to the day — but all of us love sharing Victoria with people who are curious to explore it.
Small by choice
We’re not a giant coach operator, and we don’t want to be. Keeping Hike & Seek small means we can care about the details — who is on the trip, how the group is feeling, where the weather is heading and whether there is time for one more good stop.
It also means the people designing the tours are the same people out there guiding them, learning what works and continually making the experience better.

Behind Hike & Seek
I joined Hike & Seek as a guide in 2023 and took over the business in 2025. I’d already spent years guiding multi-day walks around Australia, and what I loved about Hike & Seek was how personal the days felt.
Outside guiding, I’m usually hiking, surfing, running, taking photos or planning the next snow trip to Japan. I’ve spent time guiding and exploring in mountain environments as well as travelling on foot through places like the Dolomites.
That outdoor background shapes how I run the business — the route matters, the timing matters, the guide matters, and the little moments between the famous stops matter too.
Local by nature
Wherever practical, we stop at local cafes and independent businesses, spend time learning about the landscapes we travel through and encourage respectful behaviour around wildlife and natural areas.
Small groups also let us move through parks and communities more thoughtfully. We stay on marked tracks, give wildlife space and aim to leave the places we visit exactly as we found them.

Country matters
Hike & Seek acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the lands and waters on which we travel throughout Victoria. We pay our respects to Elders past and present and recognise the continuing connection of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to Country, culture and community.
